Education & Training

older_students.jpg Since its inception in 2004, Global Majority has demonstrated its capacity to engage both the local and international communities in promotion and adoption of nonviolent conflict resolution principles and practices. The organization utilizes two primary tools in this endeavor: training workshops and conferences. By conducting both focused training programs and broad, publicly attended conferences, we ensure that our message reaches the broadest audience possible among the diverse communities of the Monterey Peninsula and beyond.

The Global Majority Education and Training team conducts trainings for classes of students ranging from elementary school to the University level. We have reached numerous schools in the Monterey Peninsula region, including North Monterey County High School, Los Arboles, Monterey Peninsula College, La Paz Elementary, Salinas Community School and Salinas Community Day School, among others.

Most recently Izumi Wakugawa, a Global Majority board member currently residing in Kathmandu, Nepal, gave a lecture on December 8, 2007 introducing Global Majority approaches to peacebuilding through conflict resolution education and training at Kathmandu University entitled "Peace and Peace-building Approaches" which was extremely well received by the students.
