Mediation is a process that includes a neutral (third party) mediator whose role is to guide or facilitate the negotiation process and to help the parties reach an agreement. Mediation can be utilized at all levels, from individual disputes to multinational conflicts. A mediator does not have decision-making authority. Mediators may be private professionals, agencies or nonprofit organizations. At the national and international level, they may be government-appointed, or they may be representatives of a national or international agency like the United Nations. Global Majority is developing a mediation program, which we will be implementing in the local Monterey Peninsula area in the near future.
